Local Kelowna Restaurant Hosts Pumpkin Carving Contest for a Good Cause

Get your pumpkin carving knives sharpened, it's time to put those festive skills to the test at the Salted Brick's inaugural pumpkin carving contest. Spark some creativity and get to carving your version of the best Halloween pumpkin then drop it off at the Salted Brick, located at 243 Bernard Avenue, anytime on Tuesday October 29th.

The Salted Brick will auction off the pumpkins on Thursday October 30th at 6:00 p.m. for those who appreciate an original Jack-O-Lantern, yet don't want to carve their own. All proceeds from the pumpkin auction will go to the Salted Brick Monday Lunch Bag Program.

The Salted Brick Monday Lunch Bag Program was launched a few months ago to help feed some of the homeless people on our streets. Funds raise from the pumpkin carving event will allow for the lunch program to continue.

Participants will be awarded prizes for the most creative and well-designed pumpkins. First prize is a Salted Brick hamper valued at $100. Second prize is a $50 Salted Brick gift certificate and third prize is a $25 gift certificate.

Everyone of all ages is welcome to participate and local businesses in the community are invited to join in the festive fun.
