This catch of the day certainly won't be on any dinner plates. On Wednesday, a fisherman off the northeast coast of England caught a WWII bomb in the nets of a fishing trawler.

After discovering it's more than just a really big fish, the local coastguard was called in for backup. The RNLI, a charity organization providing search and rescue services around the U.K. and Irish coast, said the bomb might have been deployed at sea from an RAF bomber.

This massive piece of history weighed in at 1,000 pounds and contained 286 pounds of high explosives. After the bomb was retrieved, the Royal Navy Bomb disposal diving team examined the beast before establishing an exclusion zone and detonating it.
