More than ever consumers want to know where their meat comes from as they want to buy and support local. As a result, the BC Meats for BC Families have created an app to connect people to local meat producers. The app was first launched in 2014 but has been gaining steam as the demand for knowledge grows.

Consumers can chose the type the meat they are looking, such as beef, pork, chicken, bison, duck, or turkey. The app allows you to choose restaurants and grocers by searching the name and the app is compatible for both Android and Apple.

For a business to be listed on the BC Meats Phone App, the meat must have been sourced from a BC farm and processed by a provincially licensed abattoir under the BC Meat Inspection Program.
