St. Patrick’s Day is almost here, most of you who have to head to work on Monday morning are likely after a tamer way to celebrate this year.

If you’re not in the mood for downing pints of Guinness or Irish Car Bombs at the same pub as last year, here are a few unique events you can join in on to try something new. Don’t worry, there are still a few that include liquid luck.

UltraMagnetic St. Tatty’s Pop Up

If you love art, music, fashion and all things tattoo culture pop by Law Tattoo Studio from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. this Sunday.

Not only will the crew be celebrating St. Paddy’s but their studio rebrand to UltraMagnetic. At the event you can look forward to snacks, drinks by donation, tunes and a “Can You Tattoo?” challenge.

Competitors will try their hand at tattooing an orange for a chance to win some art, all the while browsing the space and making new friends. The event is first come first serve while space is available!

Comics Go Green

If you’re in the mood to laugh, head to Dakoda’s Comedy Lounge for 7 p.m. to enjoy the talents of local comedians but with a twist!

The comedians will have two opportunities to share their best material with the audience, once while sober, and then again while in the midst of channeling their inner Cheech or Chong. Will they land their soaring jokes? Pay the $10 at the door to find out!

ShamROCK

Kelowna’s newest St. Paddy’s celebration kicks off this Saturday night at the Laurel Packing House.

Starting at 5 p.m. the event will feature live music from Delhi to Dublin, Lucky Monkey and Dj Ghost in addition to celtic dancers, games, drinks and more. Tickets are available for $30 here!

St. Paddy’s at Muninn’s Post

If bagpipes aren’t your thing and you prefer moshing over a jig, Muninn’s Post is where you should be celebrating this weekend.

The Norse themed watering hole is a great spot to go for some heavy music and this weekend will be no exception as it is set to host tech-death band Truent alongside Technical Damage and local acts The Unending, and Eden Echo.

The best part? It is family-friendly!

St. Pawtrick’s Day Parade

If you have a pup or just simply adore dogs, head to the Peachland Community Centre on the morning of St. Paddy’s to enjoy the St. Patrick's Day Parade!

Tons of cute animals dressed to the nines in green and shamrocks ready to strut their stuff await you in addition to treats, face painting, prizes and more.
