British Columbians will be treated to a long weekend as Monday marks Family Day.
Not only is it nice to have an extra day off once in a while, but a holiday that surrounds spending time being active with loved ones, makes it extra special.
If you plan on sticking around for the long weekend, here are some places you can visit to get in on the fun.
The YMCA
One of the best places in town to go for family-friendly fun is obviously, the YMCA.
From 9 am until 5 pm families from throughout the city can visit the Y for free and participate in a number of fitness-related activities like family bootcamp or barre.
There will also be rock climbing, a bouncy castle, face painting and snacks, so don’t miss out.
The H2O Centre
If your idea of family-bonding is hitting the wave pool together, the H2O Centre has you covered.
With 50% off admission from 9 am until 5 pm, you can slip down the waterslides, test your surf skills, float down the lazy river or just chill out in the hot tub — what a way to spend a Monday!
The Art Gallery
There is nothing quite like getting creative to bring a family together and you can do just that at the Kelowna Art Gallery from 10 am until 4 pm on Monday.
You and your crew can spend the day decorating tote bags for each other, browsing the latest exhibits and visiting the gallery’s Art Lab!
Admission will be $5 per participant and the fun will run from 10 am until 4 pm.
Big White
Shred the slopes with the whole family all weekend long as Biggie hosts a wide variety of family-friendly events that will start on Saturday.
Look forward to a kid’s carnival followed by fireworks and on Monday you can enjoy free lunch between runs!
Slide into the Free Ski Thru BBQ hosted in the village, show your pass and receive a tasty hot dog.

If you can’t decide on one specific activity, the CNC will have it all this Monday!
From free ice skating and winter sports demos to soccer and giant inflatables, there will be endless amounts of fun to get in on from 1 pm until 4 pm.
