On Friday morning, team members from KelownaNow and Kelowna Chevrolet set out to surprise the second recipient of the Give Someone A Lift campaign.
Give Someone A Lift is a contest created by KelownaNow and powered by Kelowna Chevrolet, where people within the community nominate a peer, co-worker, friend or family member that they think need a little pick me up.
The team met up to surprise winner, Char Milligan, with four tickets to any upcoming Kelowna Rockets game she chooses, a $250 gift certificate she can use at either Manhattan Point restaurant or the Rockets Shop, a KelownaNow balloon bouquet and some winter swag.
Milligan was nominated by her son, Joel Milligan. "I wanted to nominate my mom because she always finds time to help us kids out with absolutely anything we need," said Milligan in his nomination.
"Now that life has thrown her for a loop, she calls us her "rocks", which something that is extremely hard for her to say, since she has always been the one in control," added Milligan. "She is our boulder."
