Many Canadians were privileged enough to enjoy a spectacular show in the sky on Friday night and even earlier this week.

Just outside of Kelowna in Beasley Park, the sky was full of colour and a few eager locals were able to capture the moment.

For those who missed the dazzling event, there's still a chance to see a good show this weekend.

Due to a Coronal Hole  High Speed  Stream (CHHSS) which may produce an even bigger display, according to the United States National Oceanic and Atmosphere Administration (NOAA).

"These faster regions of the flow, known as Coronal Hole High-Speed Streams, (CH HSS), are caused by openings in the solar corona - the atmosphere of the Sun," said meteorologist, Scott Sutherland.

"The corona is normally kept very close to the Sun's surface by a tangle of intense magnetic fields that protrude from the surface, but on occasion, an opening can develop in these magnetic fields, which allows solar particles to stream away at high speed. These openings are, appropriately, named coronal holes," he said.

As long as the skies are fairly clear, tonight and Sunday night should both provide an opportunity to see the Aurora Borealis.

NOAA forecasted a geomagnetic storm to hit Earth earlier this week, which allowed for the stunning displays across Canada.

But if you missed it, Aurora Chasers can have their chance tonight and Sunday night.

For the best viewing conditions, check your weather forecast to ensure you'll have clear skies.

Then, do your best to get away from any light pollution.

Lastly, bundle up, as the show doesn't always start right away. It may require some patience and toughness to wait for the spectacle to begin.
