If you are sick and tired of being on a bus tour or opting to be the sober driver while your friends frolic in the vineyards that have made the Okanagan Valley famous, don't worry, because there is another option – bike riding.

With more breweries, cideries, distilleries and urban wineries opening in the valley, it is easy for everyone to join in on the tasting fun without having to get behind the wheel.

Downtown Kelowna

Map your route by combining the urban wineries, cidery and breweries that span the downtown area. Begin your journey at Ricco Bambino, who have branded themselves as a different type of winery. Begin your journey by being transported into a pink oasis, share a wine flight with a friend, or indulge in your own.

Then take a spin around the corner to hit Okanagan Spirits Craft Distillery.

They feature flights and cocktails that can be enjoyed on their patio and tasters that are served at the bar.

Now it's time for a beer palate cleanser, Tree Brewing is your next stop, along the water.

Enjoy their small batch craft brews.

Roll on over to BNA Brewing & Co. and park your bike next to their tasting room to sample their unique beers and even take a growler home with you in your bike basket.

Now it's time to go on a full-on streak.

B.C.. Tree Fruits is the place to sample ciders that are not sold in stores. You can even mix them together to create your own favourite blend.

Find something that you really love? Add to your growing collection of growlers – they offer different sizes so you can bring home as many as you desire.

Around the corner is Sandhill Wines. The urban building will allow you to cool off and catch a break from the sunshine while sampling refreshing whites and full-bodied reds.

Red Bird Brewing Co. is the best spot in the North End to sit on the patio, enjoy a beer and the spoils of Surfside California Tacos.

Down the road is Kettle River Brewing Co. a small batch brewery that loves to experiment with new recipes and ingredients.

End the day at Vice & Virtue Brewing Co. where you can drink beer to your heart's content while sharing some delicious appetizers.

Looking for a little more of a challenge?

The Westside Wine Trail

Strap on your helmet and take a spin around Rollingdale Winery, Indigenous World Winery, Grizzli Winery, Volcanic Hills Winery, The Hatch Winery (though not officially on the wine trail list, it is definitely worth checking out), Quails' Gate Winery and Mission Hill Winery.

South East Bench

A wine trail not for the weak or for the lightweights.

Start at Spearhead Winery, then continue along to The View Winery & Wards Cider, House of Rose Winery and The Vibrant Vine.

Happy wine touring and please remember to drink responsibly!
