In partnership with TAILS (Therapy Animals involved in Literacy) children will have the opportunity this summer to read aloud to a furry listener at the Mission Branch of the Okanagan Regional Library.  PAWS to Read is a unique initiative between the library and the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dogs.

It's a great way to practise reading skills over the summer! This free program strives to support children who struggle with literacy and reading out-loud. Registered children will have the opportunity to read one-on-one to a certified St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog once a week during a 5 week session beginning July 2nd. PAWS to Read is for children ages 5-12, and registration is required because space is limited.

Contact the Mission Branch to register at 250-764-2254.

The Mission Branch of the Okanagan Regional Library is located at the Capital News Centre, 4105 Gordon Drive. Visit www.orl.bc.ca for more information about this and other summer programs.
