In partnership with TAILS (Therapy Animals involved in Literacy) children will have the opportunity this summer to read aloud to a furry listener at the Mission Branch of the Okanagan Regional Library. PAWS to Read is a unique initiative between the library and the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dogs.
It's a great way to practise reading skills over the summer! This free program strives to support children who struggle with literacy and reading out-loud. Registered children will have the opportunity to read one-on-one to a certified St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog once a week during a 5 week session beginning July 2nd. PAWS to Read is for children ages 5-12, and registration is required because space is limited.
