Fortis BC Plans Power Outages for Kelowna

Fortis BC has scheduled several power outages beginning on the weekend which will affect residents all over the city.

On Sunday April 13th the power will be out from 5:30 a.m. until 7:30 a.m. on the following streets because of construction:

Richter St, Coopland Cr, Raymer Ave, Curts St, Kinnear Ct, Kinnear Ave, Ethel St, Morrison Ave, Patterson Ave, Wardlaw Ave, Pandosy St, Francis Ave, Birch Ave, Guisachan Rd, Grenfell Ave.

This outage is expected to affect more than 600 people. Another outage will take place on Monday April 14th from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m but will only affect about 35 residents on Harvey and Saucier Avenue.

Two power outages are scheduled for Tuesday April 15th which will affect the most customers and last the longest. Residents on Frost Rd, Gowen Pl, Hawes Crt and Treadgold Crt will be without power from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. This will affect 37 homes.

More than 1,200 people will be without power from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday in the South Crest, South Ridge, the Ponds and the Upper Mission Areas. Both Tuesday outages will take place so Fortis BC can conduct equipment upgrades.
