Penticton Brewery Takes Home Gold at Brewing Awards

The 2014 Canadian Brewing Awards took place over the weekend in Fredericton, New Brunswick and an Okanagan brewery was awarded two gold medals.

 

Penticton’s Cannery Brewing Co. took home top spot in the Strong Porter (Baltic) category for its Kiek in de Kok Baltic Porter. The Brewery was also awarded gold for its Maple Stout in the Special Honey/Maple Lager or Ale category. The weekend brewing awards are the premiere competition for judging the quality of Canadian craft beer. This year’s event had a total of 916 entries from 136 breweries across the country.

 

The award for Beer of the Year went to BC’s Old Yale Brewery Sasquatch Stout. And the Brewery of the Year was given to Ontario’s Great Lakes Brewery. For a full list of this year’s winners visit the Canadian Brewing Awards website.
