Another evacuation alert has been issued for 150 more properties in West Kelowna as a result of the Smith Creek fire.

Properties from 1898 to 2515 Bartley Road and Lenz Road (including Pinewood Villa Mobile Home Park) are affected by this latest evacuation alert. This is in addition to the 2,500 residents from almost 1,100 homes already under evacuation order in the Smith Creek, Tallus Ridge, Alexandria Way and Shannon Woods neighbourhoods.

CORD Emergency has a detailed map residents can view that outlines all the streets and addressed affected by the Alert and Order. Anyone who is within the evacuation area is asked to register in person with Emergency Support Services reception centre which is now located in Mount Boucherie Secondary School located at 2751 Cameron Road.

The fire is still estimated at 175 hectares and has not yet been contained. Firefighters will remain on scene throughout the night and RCMP has secure roadblocks in place and will conduct roving patrols throughout the night to provide security to evacuated areas.

Emergency Support Services (ESS) do not require any donations of food, clothing or other assistance at this time and the Canadian Disaster Animal Response team is working with ESS to arrange accommodation for animals.
