A prolific offender was arrested in Vernon on Tuesday, but not before he managed to damage several cars and evade police.

Members of the Targeted Policing Unit were called to the 5400 Block of 26 Street where 22 year old David McIntosh was parked.

Once McIntosh noticed police were after him he attempted to evade capture and drove off. He managed to ram two vehicles in the process as well as an unmarked police van.

Luckily no one was injured as a result but damage to the three vehicles is estimated at approximately $5,000.

McIntosh was able to escape police and abandoned his car in the 3400 block of 30th Street a short time later. While out on patrol an officer spotted McIntosh about 15 minutes later in the area of 27th Street and 39th Avenue, and he took off running. McIntosh was unsuccessful this time however and after a short chase he was arrested.

RCMP says during the arrest they found cocaine, meth and heroin along with drug trafficking paraphernalia.

The 22 year old was also wanted on an outstanding warrant and now facing at least seven charges including possession, flight from police, dangerous driving and breach of a court order.
