Man Killed on Highway 97C Identified

The man who was killed in a motor vehicle accident on Highway 97C on Friday has been identified by the BC Coroners Service.

Merritt’s William John Jones, aged 75, was killed on July 25th, 2014 around 3:40 p.m. about 1.5 kilometres east of Loon Lake. Jones was the driver of a pickup truck which was headed west bound on the Connector when the collision occurred. Jones slammed into the rear of a transport truck with two trailers, which was also heading west bound.

An air ambulance was called to the highway and Jones airlifted to hospital at Kelowna General Hospital, where he died from his injuries.
