Social Media Accounts Shame Kelowna Parking Attempts

A bunch of new Twitter accounts have popped up in recent days as parking shaming spreads over social media, and it’s giving an Edmonton man a lot of attention.

The Twitter handles aptly named ‘DBagParking” with the city’s airport code attached are run by the same person and publicly shame bad parking all over western Canada. People send in photos to the handle, and Brian Labelle then posts the photos to the appropriate Twitter account.

Labelle says he has the accounts because he wants to showcase and shame the worst of the worst.

“This account is here 2 shame #Kelowna's worst park jobs. See somebody parked like an idiot? Tweet us a pic and tell your friends!" reads the YLW account.

There is another Kelowna shaming account on both Twitter and Facebook, this one with a bit more crude of a title though. But both do the same thing with their shaming.

Reaction has been mixed for both accounts as people question whether the shaming is a good idea and if it solves these “parking problems” but there has also been applause as people agree with the posts.
