Missing Coldstream Man Found Dead

UPDATE: A tragic ending to a missing person case as RCMP confirm that the body of Heinz Schwarz has been located. Vernon search and rescue found Schwarz's body in the water by the wharf at Kalamalka Beach Wednesday afternoon. RCMP divers were called to the scene to recover the body and the case has now been turned over to the BC Coroners Service.

Vernon RCMP is asking for the public’s help in locating a man who has not been seen since Monday evening.

According to police Heinz Schwarz was last seen around 11:00 p.m. on September 15th when he left his home in the 8800 block of Mariposa Place in Coldstream. Schwarz was heading to Kal Beach and has not been seen since. An initial search of the area did not turn up any sign of him and Vernon Search and Rescue has been asked to help with the search.

Schwarz is described as Caucasian, 6’1” tall and around 208 pounds. He has grey hair, blue eyes and was last seen wearing blue jeans, a blue shirt and white Nike runners. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Vernon RCMP at 250-545-7171.
