The route you drive every day may include one or more of the most dangerous intersections in Kelowna.
Intersections are the number one place for for collisions. RCMP say that basically every intersection in the Central Okanagan has seen at least one motor vehicle collision. No matter what the factors (low visibility, slick roads, impaired driving, etc.), most crashes happen at or near some sort of intersection. Of course, there's those intersections that get more than their fair share.
It's probably no surprise, but here are the top 10 high-collision intersections in Kelowna:
-
Spall Road and Harvey Avenue

Lake Country's most dangerous intersection is at Highway 97 and Beaver Lake Road, while West Kelowna's is at Highway 97 and Boucherie Road.
Cst. Kris Clark warns that though these locations see the most crashes, all intersections can pose a risk. Some major causes for intersection crashes include drivers using electronic devices and aggressive driving behaviours such as tailgating, speeding, and trying to beat yellow lights.
How often do you see crashes at these high-collision intersections?
