Kelowna RCMP Make Massive Drug Bust

Kelowna RCMP is releasing details about a significant drug bust that took place during a month long investigation.

On October 10th members of the RCMP Street Enforcement Teams executed a search warrant at a home located on the 200 block of Mills Road. A second search warrant was executed simultaneously at a home on the 1400 block of Crawford Road. Both searches resulted in a police seizing drugs, cash, ammunition, body armour and property.

In total officer seized 1.5 kilograms of cocaine, 1.03 kilograms of methamphetamine, 64 grams of MDMA, otherwise known as ecstasy, 224 grams of heroin, 403 grams of hash, and more than $18,500 cash. Police also found more than 500 rounds of various calibre ammunition, several vehicles including two pick-up trucks, three cars and an ATV.

“The success of this operation was as a result of a combined effort between the Kelowna RCMP Street Enforcement Units, the Downtown Enforcement Unit (DEU) and General Duty Sections,” says Cpl. Jeff Meyers. “It is believed that the amount of drugs seized as a result of this investigation will have a profound impact on the local drug trade."

A 30 year old Kelowna man and a 34 year old Kelowna man were arrested as a result of the investigation and face four potential charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

RCMP is expected to provide a show and tell of the seized drugs for the media in the near future.
