Results in for Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen

The unofficial results are in from the Regional District Okanagan Similkameen as new Electoral Area Directors have been elected.

Three of the area directors were acclaimed  including Mark Pendergraft in Osoyoos Rural, George Bush in Cawston, and Karla Kozakevich in Naramata. The five other area directors are as follows: Terry Schafer in Oliver Rural (367 votes), Tom Siddon in the Kaleden/Okanagan Falls area (638), Michael Brydon in the Okanagan Lake West/ West Bench area (245 votes), Elef Christensen for Keremeos Rural/Hedley (234) and Bob Coyne in Princeton Rural (354 votes).

A referendum question was also on the ballot for Electoral Area C (Oliver Rural). Voters were asked if they were in favour of the Regional District adopting a bylaw to establish the Venables Theatre Area within Electoral Area C and the town of Oliver to pay administration and operation costs. The referendum passed as there were 1,364 votes in favour and 458 against.

All numbers are preliminary until made official by Chief Election Officers.
