Those travelling the Okanagan Connector will want to be extremely careful, while those in Kelowna might want to bring out the umbrellas.
Environment Canada has issued an alert for the Okanagan Connector from Merritt to Kelowna. The current snow is expected to peter out with only about five more centimetres of snow expected Saturday as the storm makes its way east . However, a new Pacific storm is supposed to bring heavy snow to the Connector, with 10 to 25 cm of snowfall expected by Sunday afternoon. Environment Canada says that the Coquihalla between Hope and Merritt will have the heaviest snowfall.

On Friday, three different commercial motor vehicle incidents closed the TransCanada Highway near Revelstoke because of snow, one of which involved a commercial tractor trailer crossing the centre line and smashing into a Ford F250 pickup truck.
For those of you who are staying more safely in Kelowna, however, the cold weather we've been experiencing is about to lighten up.
Kelowna's experienced a cold blast of Arctic air, a sprinkling of snow, and a whole lot of shivering in the past few weeks. The weather certainly isn't surprising, given that we're now over halfway through November, but residents still had a bit of a shock when the cold came after a beautiful and warm fall. Even Mission Creek was frozen over on Friday, and streets had begun their shiny, winter slickness.

But perk out and look outside, because temperatures are looking up. Saturday has a high of 6°C, and according to Environment Canada, that trend of warmer whether will continue through the week. Sunday has a 30 per cent chance of either rain or flurries, but for the middle of the week, temperatures are supposed to stay above freezing.
Unfortunately, that doesn't mean that the weather's going to be gorgeous, crisp fall days with sun streaming on the sidewalks. Instead, precipitation is on the forecast every day this week, though only with a 30 per cent chance most days. Let's not forget, however, that lots of rain down here means lots of snow for the ski hills.
So, make sure you check conditions on DriveBC's website for going out of town, and enjoy temperatures of up to 11°C this week.
