According to one witness who preformed CPR on one of the pedestrians, the two people were jaywalking.
Both individuals were taken to Kelowna General Hospital. Witnesses say they appeared to suffer serious injuries. One individual appeared to have a bad knee injury and was bleeding, however; the source of the wound was not identified.
Although details have yet to be confirmed by the Kelowna RCMP, witnesses reported that one of the two pedestrians is 17 years of age.
The vehicle that struck the two pedestrians remained at the scene. Police and fire crew are also on scene and it appears that there is an investigator looking into the incident.
At the moment, Bernard at the Richter intersection is closed heading east.
RCMP have not confirmed the details surrounding the event.
