Fatal Crash Shuts Down Highway 97

A serious motor vehicle incident shut down highway 97 during the better part of Saturday afternoon, leading into the evening.

Heading towards the Kelowna airport Saturday morning, one vehicle merged into oncoming traffic and was struck head on by another vehicle.

According to a witness, the incident led to the death of one individual and the other person was taken to hospital with injuries.

B.C.'s Coroner Services are investigating the cause of the crash. More details to come.
