Well known graffiti artist Banksy released a shot documentary during his recent stay in Gaza and the powerful piece is getting a lot of attention.

Banksy has been busy putting his mark on the walls of the bombed out buildings to deliver a statement about the effects of Israel’s policies in the region. The commentary of the video describes the current state of the region and the struggle facing those who live there. Often forgotten in western societies, the conditions in Gaza are shocking and deplorable and a stark reality of the state of politics.

The politically charged statement is a mock tourism video that points to the destruction that occurred when at least 2,200 Palestinians were killed last summer during the war with Israel. The documentary features life for children in Gaza.

It shows them playing with a ball of metal, juxtaposed against a cat that Banksy created, playing with the same ball of metal. It leaves the viewer with thought provoking questions and ends with the words: “IF WE WASH OUR HANDS OF THE CONFLICT BETWEEN THE POWERFUL AND THE POWERLESS WE SIDE WITH THE POWERFUL – WE DON’T REMAIN NEUTRAL”.
