Over the years WestJet has been known for posting very funny April Fool’s Day jokes and this year they once again out did themselves.

A promotional video popped up online late Tuesday evening as the company announced a new feature for travellers: Smart Seats.

“After years of research and testing, we are excited to announce SmartSeats, a new concept in boarding flights. SmartSeats are guaranteed to change the way people fly. How? Your SmartSeats in the boarding lounge will also be your seats on the plane. Just sit back, relax and let SmartSeats do the work,” said WestJet.

Of course the idea is just a playful joke, but there are probably a few people out there who will catch the video and actually believe it! Last year the Canadian airline announced that they would be switching to metric time in another laughable video.

WestJet has become well known for their annual prank, which has included a child-free cabin and the furry family allowance of pets in the cabin. Enjoy this year’s video.
