Hippos don’t always have the best reputation as gentle mammals, but these two at the Rotterdam Zoo in the Netherlands were definitely caught doing a good deed.

A zoo visitor posted the video to Facebook, showing the baby duckling stuck in a pool. The poor little thing keeps trying to hop out and join its family, but it just can’t clear the side. That’s when one of the hippos tries to help, pushing its snout at the duckling to try to help it up. Finally, both hippos join in and corner the duckling, helping it to pop over the ledge and join its mom.

Check out the video of this duckling in distress and its hippo saviours.
