A video uploaded to YouTube on Monday is confirming something that many already suspected, but it’s certainly not a good look for Canada Post.
It shows a Canada Post employee not even attempting to deliver a package in the middle of the day.
Instead, they choose to fill out a delivery slip and put it on the door without even knocking to see if the resident is home.
Arguably creating more work for himself, the driver spends a minute in his truck after arriving at the house to fill out the delivery slip.
After putting the delivery slip on the door, he quickly makes his way back to the truck, but not before the resident opens the door and confronts him.
Right before the employee gets back in the vehicle, a woman opens the door to the house and calls out “hello? You didn’t even knock on the door.”
“I didn’t know if anyone was home,” the delivery man says. “I’ll bring the package.”
He grabs the package from his truck and sheepishly makes his way back up the driveway, telling the woman that “usually there’s nobody home.”
As she signs for the package, he adds that her being home “actually helps me, this way I don’t have to come back.”
The video has sparked quite the discussion online, especially in the comments of the YouTube video.
Plenty of people are claiming that they’ve experienced similar situations with Canada Post or other delivery companies.
“This happened to be a few times,” claimed one commenter. “I have cameras also. Called (Canada Post) to complain and now the guy always rings the bell.”
Another person sarcastically wrote, “because writing the card is easier than doing the work.”
