A special wedding was held within the walls of Chances Kelowna last month.

Bill and Pat, a local senior couple, have been together for 19 years and have been weekly regulars at Chances Kelowna for many years as well.

“Every employee here knows them by name, but what is more impressive is that they know each employee by name as well,” explained Katelyn Wilson, marketing manager at Chances.

“They are very vocal with our staff, and whether they are telling you about something they like or dislike they are always going to make you laugh.”

During that time, Bill has persistently asked Pat to marry him, but Pat has told him they didn’t need a label and that their love for each other was enough.

Sadly, Bill’s health has been declining and, over the last few months, doctors have told him that he doesn’t have much time left.

With this in mind, Pat decided to grant Bill his one wish and asked him to marry him this year.

Bill unsurprisingly said yes, but was surprised when Pat told him that she wanted to go to Chances for the couple’s honeymoon.

“When we started to inquire about the wedding on they seemed overwhelmed with planning it,” Wilson said. “Wanting to help them with it, we offered to host their wedding at Chances.”

Two days later, on Jan. 19, Bill and Pat were married at Chances and the entire thing came together just like that.

Along with putting on the wedding, the Chances staff also filmed the wedding and produced a beautiful video to showcase the day.
