A large cougar took an early morning stroll through a front yard in Coldstream on Tuesday.

Hatch cam footage shows the hulking cat calmly sauntering through the yard between 4 and 5 a.m.

According to the Wildlife Alert Reporting Program, it's the first cougar sighting in the North Okanagan this summer.

There has been multiple reported sightings in the Central Okanagan, where the typically elusive creatures reported three times between Lake Country and Peachland.

The BC Conservation Office Service asks that any wildlife encounters be reported to the RAPP line at 1-877-952-7277.
