A scary near-miss on Hwy 97 near Clinton, BC was caught on dash cam recently.

It’s a miracle that there wasn’t an accident, which would have almost certainly resulted in serious injury or death.

Jeremy Lornsten posted the footage to Facebook and it begins with him driving southbound on the highway.

As a semi approaches him heading northbound, it starts to drift off the road towards Six Mile Lake, which is right beside the highway.

The reason for that is that a black SUV is trying to pass Lornsten’s truck and even though it’s an area where you’re allowed to pass, the vehicle clearly made a risky and ill-advised maneuver.

The semi coming the other way gets onto the shoulder just enough to give the room for the SUV to squeeze through the two large vehicles, but it was surely a heart-stopping moment for all drivers.

Fortunately, this story is only about a video of a scary moment on the road and not about a highway closure due to a fatal collision.
