(Update on March 23 @ 2 p.m.): A Bentley that was stolen before being driven down the Coquihalla the wrong way has been found, its owner has said.
Raymond A Campbell posted on Facebook that his luxury car was found in Summerland.
He said there was no driver, but it did contain a collection of possessions that do not belong to him.
"No-one was hurt, that's the main thing," he added.
"RCMP now have the car. This adds a bunch more questions. The car was well down a dirt road near a construction site."
(Original story on March 22 @ 1 p.m.): The Coquihalla Highway can be a scary and treacherous drive for a number of reasons.
Poor weather can lead to less than ideal road conditions and limited visibility, but that wasn’t the case on Thursday.
On Thursday, it was the actions of a driver that put the lives of many other motorists at risk.
Dash cam footage, posted to YouTube by Jonathan Corrigan, shows a car travelling the wrong direction on the Coquihalla, just north of Exit 186.
Not only is the vehicle travelling northbound in the southbound lane, but it's also a divided section of the highway so it's not like it was a quick swerve into the opposite lanes.
The car certainly isn’t travelling slow by any means and Corrigan is lucky that he had room in between two semis to switch lanes.
“I was paying full attention and still had only a few seconds to spare,” Corrigan wrote in the video’s description. “This guy was hauling up the hill.”
According to the video’s time stamp, the incident happened shortly after 6:30 p.m.
