Being a delivery driver can be a thankless and grueling job at the best of times.
During the holidays, the workload seems to double and you’re left with very little appreciation from most of your customers, as they deal with the stress of December as well.
However, one woman from Delaware decided to leave out a box of treats for any delivery driver who was dropping packages on her front door.
Kathy Ouma left out a little container on her front porch with pop, water, oreos and an assortment of other snacks.
They were sitting beside a sign that said, “UPS, USPS, Amazon, Fedex: Please take some goodies to enjoy on your route. Thank you for making holiday shopping easy.”
It’s the type of small deed that warms your heart and it certainly made the day of one driver who was dropping off a package at Ouma’s home.
Now identified by Ouma as Karim Earl Reed III, the man is in the process of dropping a small Amazon package at the door when he notices the display.
“Oh, this is nice,” he happily exclaims. “Oh, they have some goodies. This is sweet! Oh wow. Get out of here! This is sweet. Well this is so nice.”
It’s clear he was appreciative of Ouma’s gesture, but it doesn’t end there.
As Reed III turns to make his way back to his delivery van with a handful of goodies in his hand, he does a quick little happy dance that would put a smile on anyone’s face.
It’s certainly done that, as Ouma caught the whole display on her Ring door camera and uploaded it to Facebook.
It’s since been viewed millions of times and shared by thousands and many others have been inspired to leave out similar baskets of goodies for their hard working delivery drivers.
