After discovering a dog wandering near the Coquihalla Highway on Friday afternoon, Carlie Holman has successfully found the owner and reunited them.

In a heartwarming video, Holman and his owner Toni, a truck driver from out of town, met last night so that Archer the dog could finally go home.

In the video you can see how thrilled Archer is to be reunited with Toni. Toni drove from Calgary yesterday to meet with them at Exit 119 to Chilliwack.

Holman works for VSA Highway Maintenance and was out snowplowing the Coquihalla on Friday afternoon at around 1 p.m. when a coworker came on the radio saying there was a dog up on a hill. She was able to coax the dog down and has been taking care of him while looking for the owner.

It turns out that Archer ended up getting lost after Toni was walking him at the brake check on Tuesday and he was hit by vehicle. Archer got scared and ran off, and Toni wasn’t able to find him.

Although Holman was sad to say goodbye to Archer, who she temporarily named “Chance”, go she says she was happy with the result.

“We all were just getting used to him at the house, but we know he has a loving family,” Holman told NowMedia.
