A harbour seal gave onlookers a show as it wrestled with its dinner yesterday.
Former Victoria city councillor Charlayne Thornton-Joe shared a video taken from Ogden Point of a seal eating an octopus in the water.

After doing a few spins with the creature in its mouth, the seal then swims off with its catch.
According to experts, harbour seals are “opportunistic feeders” and will primarily go after fish. However, they will also eat squid, clams, octopus, crayfish, crabs and shrimp when available.
Seals are also known to frequently swallow their food whole.
