If you’ve ever played team sports, this video will come as no surprise to you.

Former NHLer Bryan Berard posted the video to Instagram this week, which shows his nephew’s year-end speech to his teammates.

In the locker room after the final game of their season, an emotional Brody addresses his teammates.

“I just want to say, I love every one of you like brothers,” he says through tears. “I love this team, I wish we could stay together, and I’m just really happy we beat the Capitals.”

When he finishes, one teammate goes over to Brody and gives him a big hug, while the rest of the team follows after a little encouragement from the coaches.

“That’s what it’s all about boys,” Berard says in the background.

It really is what team sports is all about.

The end of the season doesn’t just mean a few months off for summer vacation, it means the end of a season long brotherhood.

While many of the players will disperse across different teams next season and beyond, the memories of their eight months of battling together for a common goal will never fade.
