It looks like a scene straight out of a movie, but it happened in Las Vegas last week.

Around 9:30 a.m. on July 11, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) officers spotted a vehicle that matched the description of a vehicle involved in a fatal shooting earlier that morning.

When attempting to stop the vehicle, the driver, 23-year-old Fidel Miranda, fled at a high rate of speed and the intense police chase began.

LVMPD have now released body camera footage from the chase, which is nothing short of terrifying.

The suspects are shooting at the pursuing officers the entire time and, at the end of the video (around 3:15 in), the officer finally pulls out his gun to return fire.

The officer who is wearing the body camera fires shots at the murder suspects through his own windshield, before finally connecting with shots that he fires through his open side window.

His successful shot forced the vehicle to swerve off the road and into the wall of an elementary school, at which the passenger, 30-year-old Rene Nunez, fled the vehicle on foot.

The driver, however, tried to reverse away from the wall at which point he was fatally shot by the pursuing officer, who had exited his patrol car.

LVMPD has identified the two pursuing officers as William Umana and Paul Solomon, who have been placed on administrative paid leave while the incident is investigated.

Umana, who was wearing the body camera that produced the intense footage seen above, fired a total of 34 shots during the ordeal, which was Las Vegas’ 10th officer involved shooting of 2018.
