It’s not exactly who you want to share the beach with.
A seemingly hungry bear has been enjoying its time at White Pine Beach in Port Moody, prompting Metro Vancouver officials to temporarily close the park space.
Antoni Kostka uploaded footage of the bear to Facebook on Thursday.
The happy go lucky animal wanders from one towel to the next as concerned beachgoers look on from a distance.
At one point, it paws open a bag and sticks its nose inside, presumably looking for a little food to satisfy its hunger.

The beach remains closed and Metro Vancouver officials have also offered up tips on how to stay bear safe this summer.
- Never feed a bear; do not leave any garbage or unattended food.
- Clean up garbage and food immediately; use bear-proof bins provided.
- Never approach a bear.
- Change your route or plans to avoid bears.
“If you see a bear, stay back 100 metres.”
You don’t have to tell us twice, we’ll make it 200 metres!
