A video taken in London, Ontario over the weekend is making the rounds online.

The footage, shot by Tyler Van Gaalen, shows sparks, fire and minor explosions coming from electrical wires as curious people look on.

The odd behaviour from these power lines was due to a two car accident that happened in the intersection, sending a minivan careening into the power pole.

Van Gaalen started filming shortly after the light show started and it last another minute once he pulled out his camera.

In the video, you can see police arrive on scene looking a little helpless, clearly waiting for power in the area to be shut off.

Eventually, London Hydro responded to the incident and shut off the power while the accident was cleaned up and investigated.

The resulting power outage affected more than 2,000 people in the area.
