A homeowner and new mother in Osoyoos is warning others after a strange individual attempted to force their way into the home, asking to see the baby.

The homeowner, who will remain unidentified, says that she wants to get the story, and the individuals face, out there in case this happens again.

Police have taken the woman involved into custody and she now faces multiple charges. She has been identified as 45-year-old Sharon Constance Forner.

The encounter was caught on the homeowner’s security camera. The woman can be seen standing outside the home, wearing gloves. She then approaches the door.

The homeowner says the woman knocked on her door, but she didn’t answer because she “looked strange.”

The woman knocked again, and when there still was no answer she entered the home saying that she wanted to see the baby.

The homeowner says she then told the woman that she “shouldn't walk into other people’s houses, especially since you don’t know them.”

“She was very creepy and said ‘okay’ then shut my door,” said the homeowner.

She says that then, as she was locking the door, the woman came back and forced her way in holding a knife.

“I threw her outside my house and ran to get my big dog who was freaking out in the back," the homeowner said.

Forner is expected to appear in court this afternoon in Penticton for multiple charges, including break and enter and assault with a weapon.
