It’s not for the faint of heart, but the results of this dangerous hobby are absolutely magnificent.

A timelapse compilation of some amazing shows the sky put on over the past years was shared by a storm chaser on YouTube. The footage is from storms in Wyoming, Nebraska, and Kansas.

The video belongs to Big Storm Picture and was shot by storm photographer Ryan McGinnis, based out of central Nebraska, United States.

The video was also shared on Reddit, where the poster wrote “People sometimes ask why I get so close to storms to photograph them. It’s because I can’t find a better way to convey how incredible our world is, and how small we are in comparison.”
