10th annual Army Run crosses the finish line

Today, over 20 000 participants ran, walked and rolled through the National Capital Region in the 10th annual Canada Army Run.

During the race, Canadian Armed Forces personnel and ill and injured members were accompanied by Canadians and participants of all ages and abilities to show their Canadian pride.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Minister of Defence Harjit S. Sajjan also attended the event in support of the members.

Since 2008, Canada Army Run has raised more than $2.1 million in support of Soldier On and Support Our Troops Fund in order to provide assistance to ill and injured soldiers and military families.

“I am extremely grateful to everyone involved in this year’s event – sponsors, partners, Army personnel, and volunteers – for organising yet another amazing Canada Army Run.,” said Major Gus Garant, Canada Army Run Race Director. “Thank you to all of you joining us this weekend to help us celebrate 10 fantastic years. It’s been an incredible journey. See you at next year’s edition on September 23, 2018!”
