RCMP in Moncton, New Brunswick are looking for a suspicious man who has been reported carrying what looked like a gun down the street.

Police received the report at about 11:15 local time in Moncton on Sunday, saying that the man was seen walking down Katherine Avenue. According to the police, the man is described as possibly in his late teens, with dark hair, average height, and possibly a slim build. When he was seen, the male was wearing dark-coloured pants, a grey-coloured jacket with red stripes on the sleeves, and a dark-coloured, knitted toque. He was also seen carrying what appeared to be a firearm.

Police have blocked off several areas in the area and are going to homes there to help identify the suspicious male. RCMP have also asked residents to stay inside to limit traffic while they search. There are both police dog and emergency response personnel on the scene of this search.

On June 4, 2014, three RCMP officers were killed and two others wounded by a shooter in Moncton, with the manhunt for the suspect lasting over 28 hours. Justin Bourque, 24 years old, was sentenced for the murders with the harshest sentence since the last Canadian execution.
