RCMP in Alberta are now investigating a homicide in connection with the recent Amber Alert issued Monday afternoon.

According to Superintendent Tony Hamori, Assistant District Officer for the Southern Alberta District, RCMP were called to a Blairmore residence at around 11:15 Monday morning, where 27-year-old Terry Blanchette was found dead.

RCMP have confirmed that Blanchette is the father of two-year-old Hailey Dunbar-Blanchette, who was abducted at around 3:30 a.m. early Monday morning.

Hailey’s mother has since been contacted and RCMP have stated that she is not with her daughter.

At this time, the RCMP major crime unit, the forensic unit, and a helicopter are currently working on this case.

The Amber Alert for the young girl has now been expanded down into Montana.
