Four models of car seats have been recalled in Canada.
Canada Tire has issued a recall for booster seats made by Transtek Trading Co. Ltd., and are under the brand names Kukuxumusu and Apramo.
The items are being recalled because they do not meet the Motor Vehicle Restraint Systems and Booster Seat Safety. The recalled Apramo seats were built between September 2013 and September 2015. The recalled Kukuxumusa seats were manufactured between September 2013 and September 2015.
"We take the quality of our products very seriously at Canadian Tire and regularly test all of our products to meet or exceed quality and safety standards," said Allan MacDonald, Chief Operating Officer of Canadian Tire Retail.
"Because of the regular testing program that we conduct along with Transport Canada, we recently determined that booster seats that once met safety requirements no longer meet regulations. Out of an abundance of caution, specific booster seats manufactured by Transtek are being recalled."
Customers that have one of these car seats at home are asked to return the item to any Canadian Tire store for a refund.
No injuries have been reported at this time.
