Original Story:

An Amber Alert has been issued for a five-year-old Calgary girl believed to have been abducted after her mother was found dead.

Taliyah Leigh Marsman is described as mixed race, she has a slim build, brown curly hair, and brown eyes. Marsman’s mother was found dead in the 1000-block of Panamount Boulevard Northwest after family members checked on her when she failed to show up for work.

Police believe Marsman may still be in Alberta and was last seen on Sunday by a family member. Police are searching for the little girl provincially as there is nothing to suggest she is outside of Calgary. Officers are treating the mother’s death as a homicide and say they have spoken to Marsman’s estranged father and he is cooperating with the investigation.

A vehicle associated with the Amber Alert has been located, however, Marsman is still missing.
