The Amber Alert for a missing five-year-old Calgary girl remains in effect has police have yet to locate the youngster.

Calgary Police issued the alert early Tuesday morning after her mother was found dead in their Panorama Hills home Monday evening. Police are investigating the death of Sara Baillie as suspicious and believe her daughter Taliyah Leigh Marsman has been abducted by an unknown person.

Marsman is described as mixed race with a slim build, blue eyes and brown curly hair. Police do not know what she was wearing at the time of her disappearance.

Currently, the Amber Alert is only in effect for Alberta as police believe she may still be in the Calgary area.

Marsman’s family made a tearful plea for her return on Tuesday, begging whoever has the little girl to drop her off at a police detachment, grocery store or gas station. Police have yet to identify a suspect and have been in contact with Marsman’s estranged father and say he is cooperating with the investigation.

Anyone with information on Marsman's whereabouts is asked to call the Calgary Police Service non-emergency line at 403-266-1236 or the Amber Alert hotline at 403-53-AMBER (403-532-6237).
