The Calgary Police Service has confirmed that a body believed to be Taliyah Leigh Marsman has been found.

According to a Facebook post, first-degree murder charges in relation to the deaths of Taliyah and her mom Sara Baille are now pending.

An amber alert was issued on Tuesday for Taliyah, when her mother was found dead inside their Panorama Hills home Monday evening.

On Wednesday, police arrested 46-year-old Edward Downey who was believed to have been involved in the young girl's disappearance.

On Thursday, a rural property east of Chestermere was searched and police say that was where the 5-year-old's body was found.

On Thursday night, Insp. Don Coleman with Calgary Police confirmed Downey has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Marsman and Baillie.

Downey was an acquaintance of both Baillie and Marsman.

The cause of death has not been determined at this time.
