The secret's out!

Lonely Planet, the world’s largest travel guide book publisher, has named Canada the number one country to visit for 2017 in their annual best countries to travel list, when the country will celebrate its 150th birthday.

The travel guide listed Canada’s breathtaking nature, trademark politeness, exquisite wine and dynamic cities among some of the reasons to explore the world’s second largest country.

Among the top 25 must-visit destinations listed by the guidebook Western Canada dominated taking the top four spots. The number one destination in the country according to Lonely Planet is B.C.'s Haida Gwaii Islands, followed by followed by the Rocky Mountains, Nahanni Territorial Park Reserve in the Northwest Territories and the city of Vancouver at number four.

Canada beat out Columbia, which Lonely Planet named the second best country to visit, and Finland, which was named third.

With Justin Trudeau’s current global popularity and a weak Canadian dollar, Canada may have a great deal of guests coming to its big birthday party next July.
