UPDATE: 7-year-old Nia Eastman found dead, Amber Alert called off

UPDATE (12 p.m.): Saskatchewan RCMP have called off the Amber Alert for seven-year-old Nia Eastman after she was found dead by investigators. 

The investigation is in the early stages and still ongoing, but police don't believe anyone other than her father was involved in the incident. 

ORIGINAL STORY: RCMP in Nipawin, Saskatchewan have issued an Amber Alert for seven year old Nia Eastman.

RCMP say Nia was supposed to be returned home to her mother by 7 p.m. on Wednesday night, but was never dropped off.

It was initially believed Nia was taken by her father, 45-year-old Adam Jay Eastman, but he was found dead early this morning from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

She's described as a Caucasian female, approximately 3’9” and weighing 50lbs. She has blonde, shoulder-length hair and was last seen wearing a purple long-sleeved shirt decorated with butterflies, a pink shirt, purple legging with silver trim at the bottom, and pink glasses.

RCMP say Nia was supposed to be returned home to her mother by 7 p.m. on Wednesday night, but was never dropped off.

The investigation is ongoing and RCMP say they have deployed highly-trained investigators and specialized equipment to the area to assist with the search for Nia.
