On average, the most expensive houses are in Vancouver, followed by Kelowna, which even beat out Toronto.
The average house price in Vancouver sits at $864,556, requiring an annual salary of over $140,000.
In Kelowna, you would have to be making about $130,000 a year to afford the average home, priced at about $785,415.
Looking to buy the least expensive home on the market, Moncton might be your best bet, where the average home costs about $235,961.
In the U.S., the priciest homes are also found on the West Coast, with the average San Francisco home priced at over $1.6 million. Americans have a little more wiggle room, though, with the average home in Detroit valued at about $64,110.
