Less than six months after Ben Moss Jewellers announced they’d be closing all their stores, a handful of them will be opening under a new name.

Charm Diamond Centres purchased the rights to the Ben Moss trademark and will be re-opening 16 stores across Canada.

The move will save the jobs of 100 current Ben Moss Jewellers employees and create an additional 175 jobs across the country.

“Charm Diamond Centres is delighted to give the Ben Moss Jewellers brand a fresh start,” said the company’s president, Troy Calder. “We have great respect for the Ben Moss Jewellers legacy and its long history.”

Calder added that the companies have similar histories as family-owned Canadian fine jewellery brands.

Charm also announced that it will offer new lifetime diamond guarantees for free to existing Ben Moss Jewellers’ customers at its Ben Moss stores and the same Ben Moss customers will be entitled to 25% off an extended service plan.

“As part of Charm Diamond Centres’ mission to ‘Win the Customer for Life,’ we plan to work hard to earn the trust of Ben Moss Jewellers customers, and to build relationships with new ones,” Calder said.

Some stores across the country will be open as early as this week, but a Ben Moss grand re-opening event will take place at some point before Valentine’s Day.
